Fantastic fundraising effort at Hildreds Shopping Centre for Skegness RNLI

Lifeboats News Release

Fundraisers and lifeboat Crew have collected over £3,000 from generous shoppers at the Hildreds Shopping Centre for Skegness RNLI over two weekend bucket collections.

Local shopping centre played host to two collection events recently in their continued support for Skegness RNLI. The weekends saw both volunteer Crew and dedicated Skegness RNLI supporters stand at the centre entrances and collect generous donations from both residents and visitors to the town.

The total collected was in excess of a whopping £3,300 and is a tremendous contribution to the charity that depends on donations from the public to fund its maritime lifesaving work.

The Hildreds Centre has been a great friend to Skegness RNLI over many years and allowing these collections on the premises is an enormous help to the local fundraising effort.

Skegness RNLI Treasure April Chapman says these opportunities are really very welcomed: 'Everyone at the station really does appreciate the support we get from the Hildreds centre. They help us raise thousands of pounds every year to save lives at sea off the Lincolnshire coast’.

Steve Andrews, centre manager for the Hildreds has helped raise awareness and funds for the RNLI for 27 years. ‘We help out whenever we can, It’s something that is very close to our hearts. It’s important to the local community and we will continue to support Skegness RNLI for many years to come.’
