Luck briefly runs out for 'White Heather' - but Cowes RNLI bring it back
Although white heather is supposed to be lucky it wasn't the case for a racing yacht of the same name in the River Medina this evening (14 November), as Cowes RNLI lifeboat was tasked by the UK Coastguard to go to its aid.
The 38 foot yacht, White
Heather, with a couple and their dog aboard, had gone aground near Kingston,
However, when the RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew arrived on the scene shortly after 6pm the yacht had already refloated on a rising tide. All the lifeboat crew had to do was to advise the couple to tie up overnight at Kingston Landing - so it seems White Heather was back in luck again.
The lifeboat crew returned to their station and the boat was washed, refuelled and made ready for her next service.
