Buckets full of cash for the Sheerness RNLI lifeboats

Lifeboats News Release

Crew members and station volunteers from the Sheerness RNLI lifeboat station had an excellent response during a collection day at Tesco’s Sheerness store

The volunteer crew and other members of the Sheerness RNLI lifeboat station held a collection day at Tesco’s Sheerness store on Saturday 11 February.

The crew members and others ably assisted by members of the Minster on Sea Rotary Club worked on a rota for 8 hours in freezing conditions and thanks to the generosity of Tesco’s customers still managed to raise the excellent sum of £1017.37p for the RNLI

Sheerness RNLI lifeboat coxswain Robin Castle said :’ we are very grateful to everybody who donated their cash on what was a very cold and gloomy day. We would also like to thank Tesco’s for allowing us to make the collection on their premises. All donations will be well spent in helping to keep our lifeboats afloat.’

The Sheerness RNLI lifeboat station is always looking to recruit new volunteers to cover a variety of roles. If you would like to become a member of the team at Sheerness please get in touch by ringing the station on 01795 664868 or email Sheerness@rnli.org.uk
