Kaye and Paul are part of the management team for the Chilton Lane allotments in Ramsgate which is a thriving community of over one hundred and thirty members with a waiting list of over forty people.

In recent years they have won Gold in the Kent Wildlife Trust and for two years came runner up for the Best Allotment in Kent.

They have built a club lodge on the site which acts as a focal point for the community with grant money from the local council. The lodge is used to house the first aid kit, a wildlife notice board and tea and coffee, providing a meeting area for the community to get together. They have hives on site and a beekeeper, who gives talks on bees and all surplus produce is shared amongst the community.

They were asked why they had chosen to support Ramsgate RNLI and it was a suggestion from one of their community as they all live by the sea and value the work done by the RNLI. Another link with the RNLI was Kaye and Paul’s daughter Cori who had been a Ramsgate Lifeguard when she was younger.
