Mrs Rosemary Wynne Finch from Tudweiliog retired recently after 53 years of loyal service

Mrs Wynne Finch first joined the committee of the Porthdinllaen RNLI branch back in 1966. In her 53 years of dedicated service has passionately raising funds and attending events for the charity. Having decided that the time was right to ease back on her workload, she is now keen to spend more time with her family.

At a recent meeting, she was presented with a framed certificate and vase for her loyal service to the RNLI, with her fellow Committee Members presenting a large bouquet of flowers.

Kenneth Fitzpatrick, Lifeboat Operations Manager at Porthdinllaen added:

‘Volunteers like Mrs Wynne Finch are the lifeblood of the RNLI, our unsung heroes who work tirelessly behind the scenes to raise funds and the profile of the RNLI. Her commitment has been inspirational and we wish her well for the future.'

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates over 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 142,700 lives.
