Saving Lives at Sea is back for its fourth series! Once again, camera crews have been visiting lifeboat stations and lifeguarded beaches across the UK and Ireland to discover some of the stories behind the rescues. So you can expect more dramatic footage, emotional rescues, and hear what it’s like to be a lifesaver straight from the mouths of RNLI crew members and lifeguards.
The series airs Tuesday nights on BBC Two at 8pm. But schedules can change, so to be kept up to date on when the next episode is airing, follow us on Facebook or Twitter You can also catch up on any episode you’ve missed by watching Saving Lives at Sea on BBC iPlayer.
George Davies, lifeguard at Rhyl
‘It could have been a lot worse. The two girls could have gone under the water, swallowed more water, and you don’t want to think about the consequences of that. You worry that you won’t make it there in time or you’ll see them go under.
‘The two girls could have lost their lives if it wasn’t for the actions of the lifeguards and lifeboat crews that day.
‘It gives you a great feeling that there are people walking around that are alive because of you and your team. It’s something that’s second to none. You can’t match it.’
