Lifeguards and beaches

Our lifeguards patrol over 240 beaches across the UK and Channel Islands. Find out more about this lifesaving service.

In 2018, they assisted 32,207 people and saved 118 lives. Our aim is to expand our lifesaving service so we can provide seasonal patrols to all regions that need cover on their beaches.
